Gospel Supplement
A songbook to facilitate bluegrass-accompanied group singing in church services, at fellowship events and at family gatherings, and to facilitate performance in the garage or on stage Bluegrass Gospel Music / Southern Gospel Music
Bluegrass musicians have something special, a cultural experience that is widely sharable--with pickers of various ages and abilities and with non-pickers. Bluegrass gospel is the best vehicle for such sharing. The Gospel Supplement was created to help bluegrass, folk and country musicians in accompanying singalongs and in jamming or performing. It is an assembly of about 25 bluegrass-friendly church hymns, about 25 gospel compositions by bluegrass pioneers, about 50 bluegrass-adopted songs from the gospel-quartet tradition, and a few spirituals.

The Gospel Supplement is unique among song books in that it comes in two mutually supportive volumes, 1) SATB Scores for Singers and Keyboard, and 2) Lyrics & Chords for Pickers. Each of these volumes contains symbols identifying segments that make good but brief instrumental introductions, interludes and conclusions. Thus, with little discussion and no rehearsal, pickers and singers know how to contribute and what to expect of other participants. This is illustrated for the singers' book on an instruction page and sample song page (Anastasia True-Type Font may be needed to see the notes). It is illustrated for the pickers' book on an instruction page and sample song page.
